Nikiya Herron, Shareholder
Ms. Herron graduated from The Ohio State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics and International Studies. She went on to attend The Ohio State University Law School and graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2008.
During law school, Nikiya was employed by the legal department of the Office of the Governor of the State of Ohio. There, she worked with a team of attorneys to assist and advise the Governor’s Chief Counsel on a variety of legal matters. She also led the clemency team which reviewed and made recommendations for the State of Ohio’s clemency applications. Ms. Herron also worked with the Franklin County Courts to provide court recommended mediations. Upon graduation Ms. Herron worked in a boutique business litigation firm in Tampa, FL and later as an independent contractor for legal services based out of New York City.
Since moving to Lakeland in 2015, Ms. Herron’s professional activities have focused on law and business. Along with her husband, Ms. Herron owns a number of local area businesses, including a spa and medical practice. She is very active in the local community and serves as a leader in a number of local area organizations. Observing the need for additional practitioners in the estate planning area, Ms. Herron became a founding member of Herron Keller Moore. She now practices law full time with the firm and focuses primarily on drafting wills, trusts, and probate administration.
When not working, Ms. Herron loves spending time with her two children, frequently volunteering for school-related functions. She is also an avid reader, and there is always a book either in hand or nearby.
